Presidential Debate ‘Phallacies’

The latest Republican debate gave new meaning to ‘up and coming’ politicians. Seriously, what have we come to? I mean, Trump stood out like a sore thumb. Ok, enough with the logical ‘phallicies.’ Ok, I’m done.

Pardon the puns, but has political discord seriously reduced itself to this level?

A few days ago, Marco Rubio made reference to Donald Trump’s ‘small’ hands, then he followed with the proverbial statement, ‘you know what they say about small hands.’ Naturally that would come up in the debate. Ok, I did it again, but I digress. This is the first time in U.S. history that there was a penis size reference during a Presidential debate. After picking my jaw off of the floor, my first thought was, ‘oh no he didn’t.’

Look, innuendo can be good for a chuckle, however, our leaders need to hold themselves to a higher standard. These men are running for the highest office in the land. We have ISIS is trying to kill us, spending has run amok and these men are busy worrying about the size of each other’s pe…. I mean presidential staff. Remember, the whole world is watching.

We need to get serious. It’s time for all the candidates to start acting presidential. I do give credit to John Kasich and Ted Cruz for at least keeping it professional.

As for Marco Rubio, he needs to stop acting like a spoiled child who is not getting his way and focus on why he thinks he’s the best man for the job. It looked like he was attacking Trump the whole night and rarely focused on what his ideas were. Lastly, Donald Trump is the front runner, he needs act like it. He will likely be the nominee unless he starts losing everything. To get respect, one must command respect. It would be nice to see some humility toward the folks that are making him the frontrunner.

For all the candidates, it’s really time to focus on your message. Why you are the best man to lead this nation through a challenging time. I like to use the analogy of the iPad. The most brilliantly marketed product in history. Never once did Steve Jobs say what the iPad could do, but rather focused on what you can do with the iPad. We need the candidates to tell us what the country can do with them as President.

I am not saying this to demean the candidates. They each have many positive attributes and either man is a world better than Hillary or Bernie. Seriously, a socialist or an incompetent criminal are awaiting us if we cannot stop acting like children.

I am holding out for a hero, and I seriously don’t want a zero.

Let’s roll!
