I recently wrote an article about how Liberal School Board candidates tend to hide behind the ‘non-partisan’ veil of local races. Why tell the truth about being Liberal when they can simply hide it and then be in a position to force twisted ideology down the throats of students?
There is another breed of candidate I did not discuss in that article. I am talking about the ones who blatantly mislead about being a Conservative but ARE NOT. These candidates may be even worse than those dyed in the wool Liberals.
Apparently, Elmbrook School Board Candidate David Irwin is no different. He is running around saying he’s a Republican, but his recent actions clearly speak otherwise. Unfortunately, he’s hiding a very important fact, HE SUPPORTED GOVERNOR TONY EVERS IN 2022.
In a major affront to Republicans and Conservatives in Wisconsin, Irwin appeared in a TV Commercial that was part of a six-figure ad buy from a Liberal group called ‘Project Democracy PAC.’ In fact, the only Republican the leftist group supported was Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. That speaks volumes.
In the anti-Michels ad, Irwin declares, ‘This will be the first time I have voted for a Democrat for governor…’ Something tells me, that was likely a false statement. Here’s why. How could anyone who proclaims to be a Republican businessman go ahead and support an administration that is likely the most anti-business in Wisconsin’s history?

Clearly, Irwin is entitled to his opinions and I have no issue with him voicing them. What I take issue with is the blatant double-speak in an effort to gain votes from unsuspecting Republicans and Conservatives. I guarantee he is not loudly and proudly voicing his recent vocal support of Tony Evers on the campaign trail. THAT IS MISLEADING AT BEST.
Elmbrook parents and taxpayers deserve honesty from people who are running for office. Teaming up with a left-wing political PAC seriously calls Irwin’s self-proclaimed Conservatism into question.
There is, however, another solid option on the ballot, Sam Hughes. The Republican WISRED Initiative is will known for vetting and endorsing Conservative candidates. They have proudly given their endorsement to SAM HUGHES for this at-large School Board seat in the Elmbrook District.
In addition to the WISRED endorsement, Sam Hughes has also been able to command the endorsements of several prominent, current and former Brookfield Aldermen and Alderwomen.
The fact that David Irwin is clearly NOT a Conservative, makes one wonder, WHAT ELSE IS HE HIDING? If he is lying abut being a Republican, will Elmbrook unsuspectingly elect another Left-Wing Extremist to the School Board? This is simply too big of a gamble with our kid’s education.
Choose wisely. Someone who talks a good talk, but then votes against their spoken ideals, simply cannot be trusted. With ‘Republicans’ like him, who needs Democrats?
