Russian Summit may end up being one of President Trump’s finest Achievements

Yes, you did not read it wrong. I am certain that some never-Trumpers and Liberals have let out a collective gasp after reading that headline. But seriously, President Trump handled this summit the best he could under the circumstances.

Let me explain.

To begin with, President Trump is a Queens, NY boisterous real estate developer, not a politician. He does not say the right things all the time and he NEVER hid this from the public.

Let’s be real, ever since he won the election, President Trump has been placed in a constant ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ battle with his critics. This obviously includes the dominant left-wing media and Washington elites like Nancy Pelosi and John McCain. You know, the people who think they are smarter than you are.

Regardless of the constant uphill battle, President Trump keeps pressing on and according to institutions like the Heritage Foundation, he has accomplished nearly 70% of his agenda. All this without his taking the media bait. Therein lies the rub.

The harder the left pushes, the more President Trump accomplishes.

This Russia summit was no different. Everyone was ready for the planted question about the coincidently timed indictment of 12 Russian Spies. Which, by the way, is based on forensic evidence on a DNC server the FBI has never actually seen and is suddenly ‘nowhere to be found.’

The question was obviously bait, but no matter which way President Trump answered, he was going to get flack.  I guarantee they already had their feigned outrage narrative locked and loaded. President Trump was basically noncommittal and did not say he supported the US intelligence Community’s findings.

You know, the same Intelligence Community that the media deemed untrustworthy about Iraq findings and the same Intelligence Community that has been proven to be set on destroying President Trump at all costs. To say nothing about the fact that the media is silent about the fact that this all happened under President Obama and he did nothing. But I digress.

Seriously though, what did CNN, MSNBC, etc expect? When asked that question by the ‘unbiased’ reporter, was President Trump supposed to take on a Russell Crowe like stance, leap over to Putin’s podium and put him in a headlock? Of course not. He was wise to wait until he got back to the US.

Instead, President Trump remained calm and did not let the presser turn into a circus. The ‘smartest’ in the media started accusing President Trump of being weak, in Putin’s pocket, treasonous and other hyperbole like that.

We all know the truth though. President Trump has been tougher on Russia than any President since Reagan. Things like the missile strikes on Putin ally Syria, to putting US armor in the ground in the Ukraine, to ending the Iran nuclear deal, to calling out Germany for bending over to Putin. Notice that Putin has not retaliated for any of that. A sure sign of respect for President Trump.

A far cry from how Obama was forced to kiss Putin’s rear end. But, of course, the media was silent on Obama’s ACTUAL weakness. Red line in the sand anyone? Ahem?

This is not the first time the media accused President Trump of being weak.  If you recall they said the same thing about the North Korea Summit. Let’s not forget that we still have subs and carriers off the North Korean Coast. Hardly a sign of weakness.

So, why will this be Trump’s finest achievement? By being ‘diplomatic’ President Trump helped strengthen relations with Putin and Russia. No, Russia is not an ally in the traditional sense, we have been spying on each other for decades. There is even a museum in DC dedicated to the tools of the Spy trade.  That being said, the United States and Russia have mutual interests around the globe.

Let’s not forget the fact that Russia has enough nuclear weapons to rival our own stockpile. Yes, that does factor in the equation, big league. Just like in the movie, The Godfather, we should keep our friends close and our enemies closer.

Yes, President Trump is not traditional by historical standards, but he is being traditional by maintaining open dialogue with Russia. Much like Reagan and even Kennedy did. Without open channels of communication, the Cuban missile crisis might have turned out differently. Think about that.

I find it fascinating that the leftwing media seemingly wants to get into a shooting war with Russia and ignore President Trump’s attempts at preventing conflict. They are so filled with hatred toward President Trump that they would rather have war than have him be successful at anything.

In the end, President Trump is not without fault, none of us is, except for maybe Hillary Clinton. President Trump can accept the Intelligence Community’s findings, be strong through actions and still be cordial to Putin. Remember Reagan and Gorbechev? President Reagan was strong, yet cordial. History has shown, this is not acquiescence, it is diplomacy. And through diplomacy we will all be safer.

In one simple word, this is LEADERSHIP.
